Unless you’ve been living under a rock, I’m sure you know what’s been going on. We are all not feeling great about 2020. It’s the weirdest year, and we have all experienced disruptions to our lives and our way of living in one way or another.
It’s been a while since we live through this global pandemic. It probably affected you in some way, whether it’s a change in routine, the way you work, your social interaction or how you feel. While you count down the days that had been past, and the fact that there is no end in sight, might last 2-4 years who knows, it’s natural to feel stressed, frustrated, overwhelmed, anxiety attack or whatever that you are feeling. Strange as the world may be, life stills goes on.
It is human nature to give everything a value. But what about all the things that cost you? And we are not talking about money here. Things that cause your peace of mind- maybe it’s arguing with someone who refused to see your point of view, someone that let you down or waiting for that person to text you back. What are these things that eat your time, your energy and your resources?
Here’s what we should do. it’s time you ignore all work emails for an hour and just speak to your mum about her new haircut over lunch. It’s time to bake your favourite cookies for your friends. Today is the day you take self-care- find ways to cultivate those moments of joy, and think about letting go of the other negative feelings. Some things aren’t worth what they cost. If you really need to throw yourself a useless “pity” party, then just time it for 5 minutes. Set your alarm for 5 minutes, after which you have to get on your feet again.
Trying to figure out how to cope with uncertainty? Here are a few things that can help.
1. Acknowledge the uncertainty and the feelings it brings
2. Ask yourself what is and isn’t in your control. - if it’s within your control, face it head on. If it’s not within your control, let it go. Solve problem one at a time.
3. Choose where you invest your time. - Pull yourself back to present
4. And lastly, if you need to transform your life at home, talk to us, we are here to help.
2020 is a forced break from the fast and furious world we used to live in, which is a pleasant surprise for all. We are in this together and wherever you might be, i wish for you the same peace as we navigate this new reality we now live in.
Anything that cause your peace of mind is too expensive. Nothing, nothing is worth your peace of mind.
